Autodocking Technology

SmartLanderTM  Vessel "Positive Restraint" technology connects large boats to the dock, which allows operators to throttle down the engine and reduce emissions. Momentum Marine will custom match system components to customer specifications.   Reduce vessel emissions during ferry dwell time and save operating costs. Charge electric ferry batteries while maintaining a safe mechanical latch. The patented V shape does all the work to guide the vessel into the locked position at the dock while still allowing movement due to variable water conditions.

Smartlander TM Features & Benefits

Autodocking
  • Saves Vessel Operational Costs - Allows for vessels to de-throttle during dwell time, saving fuel costs

  • Environmentally Friendly – The system reduces vessel emissions during docking process, and incorporates environmentally friendly components and materials. Also results in significant noise reduction, and less water turbulence during docking processes.

  • Optional Retractable Docking Arms – Allow for vessels not outfitted with the auto-docking equipment to still use the shared pier.

  • Unique Latching Clamp – Utilizes high mechanical advantages to grab the engagement bar on the vessel, but when locked still allows the vessel limited pitch and yaw motions. This helps to dissipate kinetic energy of the vessel and absorb shock, which protects equipment and results in an extremely robust system

  • Latching Arms Feature additional Compliance – Dampening cylinders on the latching arms absorb impact forces of the vessel as it is docked, thus protecting equipment on the vessel and pier from damage.

  • Wireless Control  – Customizable, simple and intuitive method to control the latching system. This is a pre-existing off the shelf solution that provides an economical, and re-configurable control.

Patented Technology

Momentum Marine has US utility patents granted and pending on automatic vessel docking systems.  More information is available upon request.
